Larry began his employee benefits career in 1978 with a third party administration and consulting firm, marketing their services to large self-funded clients. After joining American General Group Insurance Company in 1986 as a group representative, Larry was later appointed as Houston Regional Group Manager. The sale of American General’s group business to Anthem Health and subsequent development of the Acordia companies led to Larry’s appointment as CEO of Acordia Educational Benefits of Texas.
Since 1993, Larry has been an independent broker, serving the needs of a broad based group of clients, from closely held companies to large corporations. In this role, he has advised self-employed individuals, corporate HR managers and company presidents, helping them to design and implement cost-effective benefits programs within their available budgets. His focus has always been to deliver exceptional value combined with appropriate choices to meet the needs of clients and their employees. Ultimately, we understand that this is a relationship business, and that the greatest opportunity for success lies in long term partnerships with clients.
Larry has dealt with a variety of employers including public entities, oil and gas production, petroleum services, construction and property management, law firms, sports management and a major professional sports league.
A lifetime Houston resident, Larry holds a BBA from SMU’s Cox School of Business. He is active in the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce, Northwoods Presbyterian Church and the Texas Master Chorale where he serves as President. Larry and wife Patti have three grown children and two grandchildren.
